Meet The Team

Zihindula Mulegwa

Founder and Chair

Mr. Zihindula Mulegwa has been a long standing pillar in the community and political influence in the Democratic Republic of the Congo (DRC). He served for years as the Presidential Spokesperson and and Deputy National Security Advisor to the DRC government.


Mr. Mulegwa is an ordained apostle and an attorney at law, earning his Master of Law from the University of Maryland Francis King Carey School of Law. Zihindula also holds a Master of Arts degree in International Studies and Diplomacy from the University of London, School of Oriental and African Studies (SOAS), and Conflict Transformation from Eastern Mennonite University, Center for Justice and Peacebuilding.


Mr. Mulegwa is the Managing Partner and founder of ZVM Conseils, a Kinshasa- based law firm specializing in corporate and business law. His law firm in the DRC partners with in the field of Trade and Economic Sanctions with Ferrari Legal, a Washington, DC based law firm.


An advocate of adult literacy, Mr. Mulegwa started REDECO in partnership with Laubach Literacy International to provide micro-credit loans and adult literacy programs to refugee and other women in the DRC. Mr. Mulegwa has also worked to help victims of the Nyiragongo volcano eruption to find temporary shelters and food.


A former activist to end the war in the Democratic Republic of Congo (1996 - 2000), and a writer for the General Board of Global Ministries of the United Methodist Church, Mr. Mulegwa has been working with people from the DRC, Kenya and the United States to encourage and empower individuals from the grassroots.

Kimberly Dewitt

Vice Chair

Kimberly DeWitt earned her

B.S. in International Business from Park University and received her Executive M.B.A. in Executive Leadership from Baker University and holds certifications in Project Management Professional and Certified Scrum Master

Kimberly is the Founder and CEO of DeWitt Consultancy Partners, LLC, an international boutique firm in Kansas that is partnered with a satellite office in Tanzania. As an Information Technology professional with over twenty-five years of experience, DeWitt Consultancy has expanded into the global, strategic aspect of organization management. She is fluent in English and Spanish and lightly conversational in Swahili, French, Arabic, and Japanese.

William Gilliam

Treasurer

William Gilliam attended Alcorn State University where he was a member of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity and earned his Bachelor of Science in General Agriculture and later earning his Masters Degree of Public Administration from the University of Nebraska, Omaha. He was a career employee with the USDA Natural Resources Conservation Service and served in several positions before he retired 2011. In 2012, Mr. Gilliam obtained a Kansas Real estate License and is now employed as a sales agent with Crosby Real Estate in Emporia, Kansas.
